Sustainable Green
Web Design

with a smile and good humor!

I’m Beverley Delay, the independent designer behind Beverley Designs. For over 20 years I’ve been building fast, low-carbon WordPress websites and brands for businesses that want to stand out and do right by the planet. When you work with me, you work with me, from the first call to launch day, with no handoffs and no agency layers. And yes, it’s fun. No lectures, no eco-guilt, just great design that happens to use less energy.

What makes a website “green” anyway?

A sustainable website is lighter, leaner, and hosted smarter, which means it loads faster, uses less energy every time someone visits, and (bonus) gives Google one more reason to like you.
Here’s what that looks like in practice:

Portfolio

My portfolio’s got a bit of everything, sleek eco-conscious websites, memorable logos, and brand identities
that actually feel cohesive. Every project is proof that “sustainable” and “stunning” were never in competition.

Built for everyone, purposefully

Accessibility isn’t an add-on for me, it’s baked into every project from day one.

  • high-contrast colors
  • screen-reader-friendly layouts

  • smooth keyboard navigation

  • fonts that are actually easy to read

  • accessible on all devices

A website that only works for some of your visitors isn’t finished yet.

Hello, I’m Beverley

freelance WordPress designer

I’m the creative mind behind Beverley Designs! I’m a WordPress specialist, and for over 20 years I’ve been helping people turn the whole “getting a website they’re proud of” thing into something fun instead of stressful (and a little kinder to the planet, too).

I take care of all of it: custom branding, sustainable builds, and all the techy stuff you’d rather not think about. You get to enjoy the process while I handle the heavy lifting.

My clients say I’m responsive, patient, and, I’ll happily take it, pretty fun for a web designer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here’s what people usually ask me before we start

Sustainable web design is building websites that use less energy every time someone visits them. I do that by keeping pages light, compressing images, choosing lean code and fast, green hosting, and cutting anything that doesn’t earn its place. The result is a site that produces less carbon, loads faster, and is easier to use.

Both. A lighter website loads faster, and fast pages keep visitors around, which means more inquiries and sales. Speed also supports better search visibility, though it’s one factor among many rather than a magic switch. It also shows customers that you walk the talk, which matters more to buyers every year.

WordPress gives you a site you control and can grow. I build lean, using only what your site needs, so you get the flexibility of WordPress without the weight.

Yes, and only with me. Beverley Designs is just me, so you won’t be passed to a junior or an account manager. I’m the person on the first call, the one designing and building your site, and the one you reach after launch. I will never leave you hanging. Your future website is in capable hands.

A typical website takes around 4 to 6 weeks from kickoff to launch. Bigger sites or projects that include branding can take a little longer. I’ll give you a clear timeline at the start, and the biggest factor is usually how quickly we can pull together your content and feedback.

Not at all. Light doesn’t mean plain. Sustainable design is about being intentional, so every image, font, and feature is there for a reason. Some of the most striking sites I’ve made are also among the lightest, because good design comes from clarity and not clutter.
